Banyak anak sulung tumbuh dengan harapan untuk selalu kuat, bijak, dan mengalah. Mereka jarang diberi ruang untuk mengungkapkan kelelahan, kesedihan, bahkan kebutuhan akan dukungan emosional. Hal ini, jika terus terjadi, bisa memengaruhi kondisi kesehatan mental anak sulung dalam jangka panjang.

Dalam jangka panjang, pola ini bisa menumbuhkan tekanan batin yang tidak disadari. Anak sulung bisa tumbuh menjadi pribadi yang kesulitan mengekspresikan emosi, mudah merasa bersalah saat gagal, dan merasa harus selalu “baik-baik saja”—bahkan saat dirinya rapuh.

Bukan berarti anak pertama tidak menyayangi keluarganya. Justru rasa cinta itulah yang membuat mereka rela memikul banyak hal. Namun, cinta yang terus dipaksakan tanpa ruang istirahat bisa berubah menjadi beban. Dan beban yang dipendam terlalu lama bisa melahirkan luka psikologis yang dalam.
Kondisi ini sering disebut sebagai parentification, yaitu kondisi saat anak mengambil peran orang tua secara emosional atau praktis.

Dalam banyak kasus, anak sulung merasa perlu selalu bisa diandalkan, selalu harus mengerti, dan tidak boleh gagal. Ketika ada masalah dalam keluarga, dia merasa ikut bersalah. Ketika orang tua kecewa, dia merasa penyebabnya adalah dia sendiri.
Situasi semacam ini dapat mengganggu kestabilan mental. Anak pertama mungkin tampak dewasa dan tenang, tetapi sesungguhnya mereka sedang menekan perasaan sendiri.

Tidak kalah penting, memberi kesempatan pada anak pertama untuk memiliki support system di luar keluarga, seperti teman, atau konselor juga di perlukan.

Namun, ayat ini juga menjadi pengingat bahwa setiap individu tetap membutuhkan istirahat, dukungan, dan kasih sayang. Bahkan Nabi Muhammad ﷺ pun pernah mengadu kepada Allah saat merasa lelah dan sedih. Maka, sangat manusiawi jika seorang kakak pun sesekali ingin dipeluk dan dimengerti.

Tidak Mengeluh Bukan Berarti Tidak Terluka


Menjadi anak sulung bukan sebuah hukuman. Tapi ketika peran itu dibebankan secara berlebihan tanpa dukungan emosional yang cukup, kesehatan mental bisa terabaikan. Penting bagi kita semua untuk menciptakan budaya keluarga yang saling menguatkan, bukan hanya menuntut. Karena sekuat apapun seseorang terlihat, setiap hati tetap butuh tempat untuk berpulang.


Anak sulung bukan robot, bukan juga pahlawan tanpa luka. Mereka hanya anak-anak yang belajar menjadi dewasa, seringkali lebih cepat dari semestinya. Maka, jika hari ini ada kakak yang terlihat kuat, cobalah bertanya: “Kakak baik-baik saja, kan?” Karena terkadang, satu pelukan bisa lebih bermakna daripada seribu nasihat.

    outsourced but it appears a lot of it is popping it up all
    over the web without my permission. Do you know any methods to help prevent content from being ripped off?
