Urupedia – Kanaya Putri Setyawan atlet pencak silat Pagar Nusa Trenggalek berhasil memperoleh medali emas pada Pekan Olahraga dan Seni Nahdlatul Ulama (Porseni NU) 2023. Kegiatan ini digelar untuk menyambut satu abad NU yang dilaksanakan GOR Sritex Arena Kota Surakarta.

Kanaya Putri Setyawan atau yang biasa disapa Kanaya ini merupakan salah satu putri berprestasi asal Kecamatan Durenan. Sekarang ia duduk di kelas 11 di Sekolah Khusus Olahragawan (SKO) Ragunan.

Ia merasa sangat bersyukur atas prestasi yang ia peroleh dalam kejuaraan kali ini. Apalagi ia bisa berkontribusi menjadi salah satu kontingen dari Jawa Timur.

“Alhamdulillah, sangat bersyukur kepada Allah, dan yang pasti senang bisa ikut berkontribusi menjadi salah satu orang yang mewakili jawa timur dalam satu abad NU,” ujarnya.

Wanita 16 tahun ini juga mengungkapkan bahwa prestasi yang ia peroleh kali ini berkat dukungan dari orang tua, pelatih dan teman-temannya.

“(Prestasi ini) berkat support dan doa dari orang tua serta pelatih-pelatih hebat. Terutama ayah saya yang sudah melatih saya dari awal ikut silat dan (dukungan dari) teman teman saya,” jelasnya.

“Semoga Pagar Nusa khususnya Trenggalek dapat mencetak atlet-atlet yang berprestasi dan tetap rendah hati,” paparnya.

Berprestasi sampai internasional

Kanaya Putri Setyawan menceritakan bagaimana awal mula ia bisa tertarik terhadap pencak silat Pagar Nusa sampai ia bisa meraih berbagai prestasi, baik provinsi sampai internasional.

Pertamanya, ia mengenal pencak silat dari ayahnya sendiri yang membuka latihan silat dirumahnya. Lantas, ia pun iseng-iseng untuk ikut karena banyak teman sekelasnya yang ikut juga.

“(Saya) latihan 2 bulan langsung diikutin tanding dan dapat juara 3 waktu itu. Abis dari situ mulai latihan yang dari seminggu dua kali menjadi setiap hari (dengan) didampingi ayah saya,” ujarnya.

Ia juga sempat bosan dengan latihan silatnya karena ia dipaksa untuk latihan setiap hari, bahkan bisa tiga kali sehari. Meskipun begitu, ayahnya selalu memotivasi dirinya agar terus semangat.

“Lebih baik muntah darah saat latihan daripada muntah darah saat pertandingan,” motivasi ayahnya yang diungkapkan oleh Kanaya.

“Itu yang selalu saya pegang sampai sekarang, dan alhamdulillah berkat motivasi dan doa dari keluarga saya bisa seperti sekarang ini,” tegasnya.

Di umurnya yang masih muda, Kanaya pernah menjuarai beberapa kejuaraan, bahkan sampai tingkat internasional.

Beberapa kejuaraan yang pernah ia raih, juara 2 Kejurprov Jatim, juara 1 Bali Internasional Championship. Kemudian juara 1 kerjurnas Pagar Nusa 3, juara 3 kejurnas Pagar Nusa 4, juara 1 Kejurda Pagar Nusa Jatim, juara 1 porseni NU dan masih banyak lagi.

Ia mengungkapkan bahwa setiap kejuaraan informasinya pasti mendadak. Jadi, ia harus mempersiapkan apabila sewaktu-waktu ada kejuaraan.
