Urupedia – Setiap zaman memiliki karakteristik masyarakat yang berbeda. Begitupun faktor yang mendukung karakteristiknya juga dipengaruhi hal- hal tertentu. Sejalan dengan itu jika kita memandang kemajuan dunia akademik pastinya juga melihat posisi mahasiswa sekarang mau berjalan kemana. Karena dilema setiap zaman pastinya juga berbeda.
Sebuah pertanyaan besar pada calon mahasiswa baru hari ini, berhubung agenda pengenalan budaya akademik beberapa kampus dilaksanakan, bagaimana kita menatap fakta sosial sebagai gerakan revolusioner yang sesuai tri dharma perguruan?
Dunia konsumsi, atau sikap konsumis bukan menjadi hal yang baru, tetapi pada hari ini sublimasi akan aliran tersebut di serba digital, terakomodasi dalam beberapa dilema-dilema berkepanjangan. Seperti media sosial, pada hari ini yang menampilkan hal- hal yang viral, tetapi dalam keadaan tersebut terjadi yang namanya Absurd.
Reaksi perasaan antara pro- kontra terhadap konten yang mudah ditelan begitu saja. Bagaimana dengan Achievement status yang dimiliki mahasiswa, sebagai Iron stock, agent of change, agent social controll, guardian moral, apakah ada relevansinya untuk sekarang? atau mungkin ada terminologi budaya akademik baru untuk mahasiswa sekarang?
Setelah fenomena gerakan mahasiswa untuk menolak rancangan undang- undang omnibus law atau ciptakerja, yang mana tidak berhasil untuk menghentikan kebijakan tersebut justru malah disahkan. Ada hal yang menarik di suatu sisi gerakan mahasiswa untuk berdemo-demo, dimana beberapa kelompok mempertanyakan, apakah benar bahwa gerakan itu ada sebagai subtansial perjuangan, tunggangan untuk meraih kekuasaan?, Atau memang di dunia yang serba instan, kita terlalu berpikir yang cupet, sehingga tidak memandang kedepan?
Kajian liminal space atau ruang kebimbangan dalam pandangan postkolonialisme, merupakan studi yang menarik untuk dikaji. Bhabha menjelaskan fenomena ini disebut ambivalensi. Hal ini mengakibatkan subjek menjadi tidak tahu dirinya sendiri dan arah gerak mau kemana. Akhirnya antara lifestyle dan Idealisme, terjadi gejolak yang membingungkan. Membaca buku dan menulis apakah akan menjadi omong kosong? Atau kepragmatisan telah merenggut dirinya (sosial), atau memang betul ide-ide dari kajian tidak mampu menembus hal- hal visioner dan revolusioner?, dan terjebak dengan event momentual saja? (Islahuddin Ibrahim, 2023)
Tetapi terjadi sosial dilema di mayarakat kampus, dimana pragmatism telah merenggut ruang visioner, dan Idealisme menjadi tumpul dikerumuni fenomena yang belum objektif. Seperti suatu sisi fenomena di tiktok abang-abangan kampus memberi dampak negatif kepada mahasiswa generasi sekarang, bahwa budaya seperti itu tidak relate di zaman sekarang. Semacam ketumpulan proses, keinstanan terlalu menelenajangi kita.
Tetapi permasalahanya adalah mampukah ia tetap kritis dalam tataran belajar membaca mengembangkan literasi, di tengah arus yang membuat kewalahan, akhirnya lupa dengan ilmu yang ia gali dan berikan. Membaca buku dan menulis, itulah identitas mahasiswa, tulisan bukan sebagai lepas tanggung jawab, tetapi ada nilai moral yang harus digerakan. Jangan menuntut sebuah tulisan seketika berjuang, tapi tuntutlah kita sendiri-sendiri.
Yang perlu dipertanyakan mereka mengalami stagnasi, degradasi, atau memang suatu kecondongan baru yang dihadapkan situasi technokrasi yang semakin menggila, yang mana dari hal itu apakah menciptakan tradisi baru dalam dunia akademik? Antara menginterupsi sebuah sistem atau memenuhi kebutuhan lifestyle, itulah sebuah dilema berkepanjangan.
Kemudian ditambah yang telah diketahui bahwa minat baca di Indonesia sangat rendah. Minat baca dalam tanda kutip mencari pemahaman yang luas dan radix (mendalam), Hal tersebut dibuktikan berdasarkan survei evaluasi dari sistem pendidikan pada tahun 2018 oleh Programme For International Student (PISA), bahwa peringkat akan literasi dan numerasi sangat rendah. Kemudian fenomena, joki, copy paste, ditambah platform-platform baru yang memudahkan menyelesaikan tugas. Akankah mengerutkan dahi terhadap pisau analisis dari mahasiswa?, Apakah itu benar? (Ibnu Fiqhan Muslim, 2021)
Ditambah lagi pemenuhan tugas akhir apakah hanya untuk sebuah pengambilan penghargaan kesarjanaan atau tugas akhir sebagai karya yang spesial? Apakah seperti selayaknya para akademisi, meletakan teoritisi sebagai upaya salah satu landasan pengetahuan, untuk menciptakan riset atau inovasi yang progresif?
Kemudian iklim politik praktis dan pragmatis tidak luput dalam melihat dialektika yang terjadi dalam kampus. Usaha- usaha itu pasti ada bukan sebagai hal yang menakutkan, tetapi memang benar terjadi. Tetapi minimnya bagaimana menciptakan iklim politik visioner, diskusi yang kontinyu yang masih memertahankan idealisme walau pada akhirnya pragmatis juga tidak luput dari subjek- subjek personal mahasiswa.
Semenjak reformasi telah berlalu, pergerakan mahasiswa sudah tidak semasif dahulu. Bahkan tidak semua respon masyarakat setuju atau merasakan kebersamaan bersama mereka, dan tidak terlalu disorot. Tetapi masih ada juga beberapa aksi-aksi yang mampu mempengaruhi dengan signifikan fokus terhadap kebaikan masyarakat.
Gerakan spontanitas lebih menjadi gerakan yang efisien untuk menyatukan. Tidak bersifat perencanaan jangka panjang dengan isu- isu yang ramai di khalayak umum. Membuat ruang visioner menjadi dangkal. Krisisnya ruang dialogis diantara mahasiswa, atau pun minimnya kajian-kajian kelas yang berkelanjutan, membuat terendamnya ide, hanya sebatas dalam ruang pikiran. Kurangnya tradisi kritik- mengkritik juga mempengaruhi, bagaimana proses perkembangan keilmuan dapat terjadi. Yang ditakutkan adalah pendidikan dalam kuliah hanya sebatas dogmatis dan doktrin. Berpikir Kritis tidak hanya menyelam dalam samudera keilmuan, tetapi juga melihat samudera dari berbagai sisi. Tidak semata- mata terminologi kritis adalah sebuah perlawanan. Tetapi sebuah proses dalam mencari kebenaran. Bagaimana dapat mengelola informasi, mendapatkan data, menganalisi keterkaitan data dengan problem sosial, sampai pada ketidakmampuan menarik kesimpulan dari problem solving. (Setiawan, 2021)
Memang begitulah adanya Identitas sebagai suatu hal yang berjalan dinamis dengan kerangka sosial, seharusnya kita bertanya kepada arah gerak mahasiswa pada hari ini. Kehidupan semakin sulit dan rumit, masyarakat masih menaruh hati kepada mahasiswa untuk melakukan sesuatu yang baru dalam masyarakat. Sekian.
