“Adam dan Hawa” merupakan novel yang mengingatkan saya akan sosok perjuangan-perjuangan perempuan dalam mengalahkan pratiarki. Setelah membaca novel ini, sungguh terbayang bagaimana kondisi perubahan psikis dari karakter yang di ceritakan. Berbagai tokoh yang di tampilkan memiliki peran yang penting akan alur yang di bawakan. Belum lagi, soal penindasan yang terjadi di antara tokoh laki-laki dan perempuan.
Ketika membaca novel ini, awalnya saya berpikiran dan mulai skeptis. Tapi perlu diketahui juga, dalam novel ini kalau dilihat dari konteks yang di bawakan memang menceritakan tentang asal-usul manusia pertama yaitu “Adam”, uniknya “Hawa” sebagai tokoh dalam novel ini bukanlah perempuan pertama.
Selanjutnya, saat saya menocoba kembali membaca dan memahami lebih dalam. Rupanya banyak sekali hal-hal menarik yang berkaitan dengan ketidakadilan, subordinasi, eksploitasi yang terjadi pada perempuan dan laki-laki. Seperti, lelaki yang tertindas dan kehilangan keadilannya, perempuan yang haus akan dendam dan kemenangan karena merasa dirinya telah mengalami ketidakadilan. Karena hidup cuman untuk disenggama laki-laki. Ada lagi, laki-laki yang kuat, gagah dan perkasa, egois, kasar dan penakluk karena putera Tuhan yang tak mau keputusannya dibantah. Namun di balik itu, ternyata ada sosok perempuan yang lahir dari harapan dan doa yang bisa mengontrol dan meluluhkan hati laki-laki.
Awal kisah dalam novel “Adam dan Hawa” menceritakan tentang seorang yang terlahir dari lempung atau tanah liat. Ia adalah Adam seorang mahkluk yang memiliki kemampuan mengenali berbagai nama-nama tumbuhan dan benda-benda yang ada di Tanah Eden. Bertempat tak jauh dari akar-akar pohon raksasa yang menjulang luas dan daun-daun serta buahnya sering berguguran di setiap purnama, pohon itu bernama “Pohon Khuldi”.
Di Rumah Batu itu, setiap purnama. Adam selalu bertanya-tanya bagaimana Ia lahir?
“Bagaiamana cara Tuhan melahirkanku? Itu pun bila benar aku dilahirkan olehnya. Kalau Tidak?” (Adam dan Hawa, hal. 13)
Pertanyaan-pertanyaan seperti itu selalu menghatui Adam setiap malam Purnama, hingga Ia bertemu dengan si Juru Cerita tak lain adalah malaikat Penjaga Mimpi yang mempunyai tubuh halus belulang. Setiap malam, saat Adam tertidur tiba-tiba ada sosok yang menemani dan menjawab pertanyaannya itu.
Suatu ketika, mulailah si Juru Cerita menceritakan tentang asal-usul Adam. Adam diciptakan karena kuasa dan keinginan Tuhan untuk menciptkan maklhuk yang dikaruniai pikiran lebih maju dari budak-budak gipsi.
“Kata Tuhan, Mahkluk yang baru saja tergambar dalam alam pikirannya lain sama sekali dari budak-budak gipsi itu. Berbeda bentuk maupun rupa. Tuhan inginkan makhluk sempurna, yang hampir-hampir menyerupainya dalam citra dan wataknya. Nantinya Tuhan sendiri akan tiupkan udara dalam tubuhnya.” (Adam dan Hawa, hal. 15)
Kala itu, Juru Cerita juga mendongengkan tentang proses pembuatan Adam yang mana Tuhan mengutus Malaikat Pesolek untuk mencari makhluk bernama Gipsi untuk membuatkan patung sesuai sketsa yang di bawa Malaikat Pesolek. Yang nantinya, Tuhan bakal tiupkan roh dalam maklhuk itu.
Mendengar cerita itu Adam mulai skeptis dan tak yakin akan dirinya. Untuk menyenangkan Adam Juru Cerita juga menceritakan asal-usul Adam yang tak lain adalah karangannya, bahwa Adam lahir dari bulu ketiak Tuhan.
Tuhan tahu betul bahwa gatal maha gatal itu akibat ulah makhluk yang terlukis dalam pikirannnya. “Baiklah, ternyata kau, ciptaanku, pilih keluar lewat ketekku yang kanan.” (Adam dan Hawa, hal. 27)
Bulu tersebut sebenarnya merupakan sebuah simbol akan suatu kelahiran manusia yang akan melewati rerimbunan yang lembut dan tipis. Itulah analogi unik yang ingin disampaikan penulis melalui imajinasi dan logika hingga pembaca dapat memahami suatu makna setiap paragraf yang ditulisnya. Lebih lanjutnya silahkan membaca novel tersebut.
Selanjutnya, saat kondisi sore hari yang segar. Adam di kejutkan oleh sosok makhluk yang mirip dengannya bisa dikatakan kembarannya, namun memiliki tiga perbedaan yang sangat jelas, setelah Ia mengamati secara dekat sosok makhluk yang berdiam diri di sekitar pohon khuldi. Ternyata makhluk itu adala perempuan yang bernama Maia. Di sinilah bertemuan Adam dengan sosok perempuan pertama yang bakal menghuni rumah batunya.
Ada suatu peristiwa yang mana pertemuan Adam dan Maia, malah membuat Maia terkekang seperti berada dan hidup disangkar burung. Sebab Maia tak boleh keluar dari Rumah Batu pada siang hari.
Sampailah pada suatu kondisi, sikap Maia berubah terhadap Adam. Dengan mata yang tajam seperti ular. Ia ingin saat bercinta berganti posisi bahwa dirinya ingin di atas. Karena berada di bawah terus terasa tidak enak untuk dirinya, sebab terasa seolah-olah dirinya tertindas untuk memenuhi nafsu tuannya.
Namun, Adam malah menolak permintaan Maia, karena dirinya adalah Putera Tuhan. Bahwa laki-laki harus terus berada di Atas. Karena itu, sudah takdirnya. Pada akhirnya, Maia menggugat dengan melontarkan suatu pertanyaan, seperti ini;
“Apakah Tuhan juga yang mengatakan itu? Apakah Tuhan juga merasakan bahwa bercinta di bawah sama sekali tak nikmat? Bertahun-tahun aku jadi perempuan terkapar. Oh, sungguh sebuah kutukan jadi perempuan pendampingmu, Adam.” (Adam dan Hawa, hal. 47)
Dari situlah, sebuah perdebatan terjadi di rumah batu, sampai Maia kabur dari rumah Adam dan memberikan bekas goresan di wajahnya yang tembem. Hal itulah, membuat dirinya mengalami kesepian, karena hanya tinggalah dirinya sendiri yang berada di rumah Batu karena semuanya telah kandas dan sepi.
Ada sebuah kejadian yang diceritakan yang mana pada suatu malam dan sunyi, Tibalah sosok makhluk dengan sura yang halus, sosok itu tak lain adalah Hawa. Yang lahir dari doa dan harapannya. Sungguh takjub Adam melihat perempuan yang bernama Hawa, Ia di buat puas setiap perkataan yang keluar dari mulut lembutnya dengan mata dan pandangan yang selalu memandang ke bawah. Jauh berbeda sekali dengan Maia yang memiliki pandangan dan mata seperti ular.
Dari sinilah Adam ingin menaklukan Hawa, agar menjadi perempuan yang patuh terhadap setiap perkataannya. Karena dirinya adalah putera Tuhan. Pertemuan Adam dan Hawa inilah menjadikan sosok Adam sebagai maklhuk laki-laki yang dulunya keras, egois dan kasar menjadi seorang yang setia dan memperhatikan setiap kondisi Hawa. Sampai pada hubungan bercinta Hawa mengandung seorang bayi kembar. Namun ada kejadian, sekitar enam purnama saat kandungan Hawa yang membesar, Adam mulai curiga karena menemukan sebuah bekas kulit buah Khuldi. Adam takut bahwa Hawa telah memakan Buah itu, karena dapat menghadirkan kutukan di rumah Batunya.
Di kelanjutan inilah, saya telah menemukan sebuah kondisi yang merubah karakter seseorang baik psikisnya. Setelah Hawa melahirkan anak kembar, yang bernama Khabil dan Munah. Adam mulai cemburu karena Hawa selalu memperhatikan dan menyayangi ke dua anak itu. Adam merasa dirinya tak bisa bercinta lagi setelah mempunyai ke dua anak itu. Sifat Adam mulai berubah total menjadi seorang Ayah yang kejam dan brutal, terutama kepada kedua Anaknya Khabil dan Munah.
Karena anak itulah yang telah membawa kutukan di rumah Batu, hingga malaikat pun tak pernah hadir dalam mimpinya. Bahkan Adam sudah berani memukul, menampar, dan menendang mereka yang tak mau patuh terhadapnya. Dari sini, saya telah melihat suatu peran Hawa sebagai seorang Ibu yang tetap sabar, dan tabah serta melindungi ke dua Anaknya dengan rasa kasih sayang. Bahkan Hawa bisa membuat seorang laki-laki yang buas seperti singa bisa menjadi luluh setiap perkataannya dan kelembutannya.
Pada bagian bab selanjutnya, yang menurut saya memiliki alur yang unik karena setiap karakter tokoh dan perannya sangat membuat saya tersanjung. Yaitu saat pertemuan Maia bersama dengan Idris. Maia bersikeras ingin menanamkan benih seorang anak yang kuat dan tangguh untuk membalaskan dendamnya kepada Adam, anak itu kelak akan diberi nama Ijajil.
Pertemuan Maia dengan Idris, bagi saya membuat kondisi psikis dan karakter Maia berubah total. karena, Idris adalah seorang laki-laki yang tidak banyak cakap, pendiam dan penurut juga perhatian. Di bagian inilah, Maia ingin menaklukan laki-laki itu dengan berbagai syarat yaitu harus menanamkan benih dalam perutnya.
Permainan Maia pada bab ini seakan-akan menjadi sosok perempuan ular yang menuangkan bisanya untuk mempengaruhi pikiran Idiris sampai Ia takluk dan menurut apa yang diperintahkan oleh-nya.
Dari keinginan tersebutlah, sampai kedua makhluk itu bercinta. Hingga melahirkan seseorang anak dan ternyata anak tersebut memiliki tiga tanda yang sama dengan Maia. Nahh, di sinilah menariknya bagi saya, yang mana perjanjian dan syarat yang sudah membius pikiran Idiris sampailah pada puncak yang mana Idris kehilangan kejantaannya.
Meskipun memiliki anak yang tidak sesuai dengan keinginannya, namun Maia tetap bersikeras mendidik dan menanamkan bisanya untuk membuat sang anak tidak takluk kepada laki-laki, justru akan menaklukan laki-laki yang kelak akan tunduk pada perintahnya. Anak itu bernama Marfu’ah. Suatu saat nanti anak tersebutlah yang bakal membalaskan dendam Maia.
Kesimpulannya adalah dalam buku fiksi yang berjudul “Adam dan Hawa” tak lain menceritakan tentang perjalanan Adam dan Maia yang mengalami kondisi perubahan sifat dan karakter masing-masing karena peristiwa yang Ia alami tak sesuai dengan kehendaknya. Juga kehadiran Hawa yang lahir dari doa dan harapan Adam. Yang telah membuat alur cerita mulai menarik. Lebih lanjutnya, silahkan membaca buku tersebut.
Buku itu juga menyimpan pesan tersirat yang membuat saya berpikir-pikir. Setelah membaca, saya mulai paham ada pesan tersirat di setiap kalimat yang disampaikan penulis, salah satunya yang terpampang dalam imajinasi saya yaitu,
“Tuhan pengagum Maha Pengagum Perempuan”.
Kalimat itu menurut saya tersirat dalam perkataan tokoh-tokoh perempuan dan peristiwa yang terjadi serta di alami oleh tokoh perempuan yang diceritakan.
Sebagai penutup yang mungkin menarik ditulis tuk mengakhiri dari akhir tulisan resensi ini adalah sepenggal kalimat yang saya dapatkan setelah membaca buku karya Fahruddin Faiz yang berjudul “Ihwan Sesat Pikir dan Cacat Logika” yaitu sepenggal kalimat dari tokoh bernama Zen yang berbunyi, “Kalau engkau paham, segala sesuatu seperti adanya; kalau engkau tidak paham pun, segala sesuatu seperti adanya.
